In celebration of an amazing three plus years on the road,
culminating next month with their Thanks
Ewes National Tour, Brisbane outfit Ball Park Music re-release their highly
acclaimed sophomore album “Museum”
with a bonus live disc.
Like many
bands before them, Ball Park Music started out cutting their teeth on the local
circuit around their home town. With
the 2011 release of their highly acclaimed debut album “Happiness and Surrounding Suburbs”, and a swag of triplej supported
singles, the band set off around Australia, steadily building an army of live
supporters. Stellar performances at last year’s Splendour in the Grass, The
Falls Festival and most recently at triple j’s One Night Stand Dubbo
extravaganza, only served to increase the bands reputation as a live act not to
be missed.
Within a year of the release of “Happiness and Surrounding Suburbs”, the band delivered their follow
up album “Museum”. The album was
equally well received by fans and media alike, spearheaded by “Surrender”, which had already been a
live crowd favourite. The album debuted on the National Aria chart at No 9;
propelling the band back out on the road, playing to bigger venues and more
fans, in support of the already much loved new material.
Heading into their final headlining tour for the year, the
band will have racked up an impressive 230 odd shows in what seems like an
impossibly short space of time. In
recognition of the fans support over this period “Museum” will be re-released Friday
7th June featuring a bonus disc containing 8 live tracks.
The live set was recorded at Sydney’s Manning bar in
February 2013. With over 30 minutes of music, including material from both
albums, it’s the perfect taste of the band’s energetic live performance, and
the ideal warm up music to the Thank Ewes
June/July Tour.
