"The world is black and white. The sky is
green."
Saddle up! Sydney's pinpoint guitar-popsters High-tails are thrilled to inform you they're hitting the road to launch their new 2015 single "Information". The foursome will play two special headline shows in Melbourne and Sydney in late June.
"Information" premiered on Gold
Flake Paint [UK] who hailed it as "a loose-limbed guitar
strut", while triple j's Zan Rowe raved "such
a great song ... it builds and builds and builds!” Frontman Nicholas
Griffith says "It grew out of a dance rhythm we were
jamming and has become our favourite thing to play in front of a crowd. We've
been finishing our live shows with this with this track and afterwards people
have been coming up smiling, saying 'That's the one! That's the banger!'".
The song's "torturous" film clip has also just landed via themusic.com.au.
The single comes on the heels of some busy national
touring for the band - they played a 10-date run supporting Brisbane
crooners Millions in November/December, and more recently were
handpicked by likely London lad Jamie T to open his sold-out
East Coast shows in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.
"Information" is High-tails' first fresh
material since their debut EP "Sipping Tea To Make Music To Sip
Tea To", which was released in October. It featured bona fide
smash "Bending Over Backwards" which Aussie
Playlist frothed "gets stuck in your head (and doesn't
get out quickly)", and came in as the 29th most-played song on triple
j last year. Its follow-up "Terrible Day" saw Happy proclaim "(they're)
a band who set the bar higher each time ... every element of the song is too
good to not get a mention in being f*cking brilliant". Both songs'
heavy rotation also saw High-tails rank as 9th most-played artist on triple
j Unearthed in 2014.
Throughout 2014, High-tails played further gigs
across Australia supporting The Holidays, Northeast Party
House, Major Leagues, Loon Lake, The Cairos and
more. They also completed festival slots at Sounds Of The Suburbs, Blurst
Of Times, Yours & Owls' 4th Birthday and Sydney
Fringe. A recent AU Review report said of the bands live
show "their enthusiasm and energy [is] intoxicating".
"Information" is out digitally now.
