Sam Cromack, under his solo moniker My
Own Pet Radio, is pleased to announce The
Goodlum Tour in support of the release of his debut album ‘Goodlum’.
Don’t miss the intimate
shows at Newtown Social Club in Sydney, on Thursday 12 November, Black Bear
Lodge in Brisbane, on Saturday 14 November, and Northcote Social Club in
Melbourne on Saturday 21 November.
"This is the first ever MOPR tour. The brand new line-up consists of
great friends and even greater musicians. My best friend Ben Fahey joins on
guitar/keys and another dear friend, Alex L'Estrange - who drummed on and mixed
the record - will weirdly be tonking away on the bass. We're also super
fortunate to have recruited the drumming tour de force that is Ryan Strathie
(HKOH, Holy Holy, Andy Bull, Sans Parents). It's a real dream band."
‘Goodlum’
is set for release on Friday 25th September. The album stands to
offer a fresh perspective to those already familiar with Cromack’s acclaimed
songwriting. The record sees him returning to his beloved DIY studio to sift
through years’ worth of demos, beats, samples and unfinished songs. The record
shows him delving into new sonic ideas and unexplored songwriting territory;
marrying his love of glitchy, downbeat electronic music with the unbridled
humanity of acoustic instruments and real players. From the quiet poetic
stylings of Elliott Smith to the rambling guitar solos of Neil Young; from the
smouldering drum manipulations of Four Tet to the whispering wonders of
Sparklehorse; ‘Goodlum’ sees Cromack touch base with his favourite influences
in order to produce a sound truly his own.
‘No Great Mystery’ is the
first single off the album gaining momentum through high rotation status on
triple j, debuting at #14 on the AIR 100% Independent Radio Chart and scoring
